Comments:Just a little experiment I did a while back, a 1970s floor twin spot fitting with the two lamp holders wired in series, 100W GLS in the top, 18W SOX in the bottom! Looks bloody ridiculous but it actually works! :P

LOL just about the most objectionable light source to have indoors! Esp. in the living room! Did the SOX warm up properly?? Shocked

As the old saying goes "Put a SOX in it" although very bright they arre less stranious to the eyes and use very little electricity

Lol that's exactly why I thought I'd try it, Tom! Razz Yeah it did warm up, was slightly flickery though!

Lol couldn't be better then Colin! Only issue with this set up it there's a lot of loss with the filament lamp Sad
