thats very cool! I know James made a few of these from some left over pearl bulbs he found, but I think most had 3 pin BC cap to replicate the old british pearl lamps, so its interesting to see one with an Edison screw
 I wonder if James made any others with different arc tubes?

Yeah it's a lovely little lamp! Essentially a Sylvania 80w MBF stem sealed into a Thorn 70w SON-E outer. As you said, a few leftovers from Leicester I believe. Thorn were still knocking out pearl 80w and 125 MBs with both E27 and B22-3 caps into the early 70s so this is a great replica!
