That is :vomit: thats how much I HATE Thorns street lighting now. BRING BACK THE BETA 2 AND 5 IN SOX.

My god, I bet some engineer in thorn or someone who sits behind a computer designed this and thinks its really good! They need a slap

When I first saw these on that forecourt, they looked like a twin PL-L format at first glance. I bet these cost a packet compared to proper 35w SOX Beta 5s! Well at least we had a nice lunch there LOL!

I`m guessing this is NOT Thorns own conversion?, there would be no point in them converting a Beta lantern for LED when they could make a new one from scratch?

there's a load of companies these days that have jumped on the retrofit bandwagon. Also some which seem to have the rights to sell lanterns with their own name on. I wonder if this is one of these Rich

Thats interesting, a micro thin Beta 5!, although the above one looks like its got the standard QB5 V bowl on, so could be an inhouse conversion?

I agree, maybe the coucil jst chucked a SOX Bowl on the Hardie lantern, failing this it could be a Ritherdon LED Conversion Tray see HERE

Looking at this again, I'd certainly rather see old lanterns retrofitted with those kits rather than the dreadful LED lanterns we've seen cropping up recently! Wish Oxford CC had done this with our Beta Fives!
