Short Lived Oven Lamps!

Postby Tom » Wed Apr 26, 2017 11:18 am

Has anyone else been experiencing premature lamp failures in their ovens at home? I'm referring to the 300c rated 40w E14 G45 jobs. We've had both Polish made Philips and Chinese made Osram pearl variants and never get more than a few months service from them! All the lamps I've seen have the standard two support coiled coil filament and I am putting this down to two main factors;

One being the actions of the door opening/closing and the other being vibrations from the fan motor. Does anyone know of a reinforced filament variety with additional supports? I think a Rough Service oven lamp could be a good thing! I dare not even try an LED in there for obvious reasons haha! Any thoughts?

Isn`t there a rough service E14 pygmy?, we have never had a fan oven, so haven`t ever had that problem! :roll:
