85w SO/H Gear?

Ok, so just had delivered an 85w SOX lamp, which had to be burnt only in the horizontal position.">SO/H lamp & dewar jacket. Want to run the lamp up, but none of my running gear is as old as the lamp is. Any suggestions for suitable running gear? I'd have gear for 35 / 55 / 90 SOX, maybe also rated for the previous incarnation of lamps, but don't think any of it lists 85w

Cheers :)

You lucky man! SOX lamp, which had to be burnt only in the horizontal position.">SO/H is still very much on my most wanted list. As far as I'm aware, 55w SOX was intended to replace the 85w SOX lamp, which had to be burnt only in the horizontal position.">SO/H (which shared the same leak transformer ballast as the 45w and 60w I believe) so a 55w circuit should be ok. Don't forget to let her run for a good six plus hours!

Cheers, worry not however, just gone through my lantern collection and found an old Atlas Beta 5 with a leak transformer in it that lists 85w. It's now into it's 5th hour lit. Going to give it a good run as I want it to start again next time.

The SOX lamp, which had to be burnt only in the horizontal position.">SO/H lamps are wonderful, aren't they :D

I have a 60W Philips "bamboo" style one, the Philips L4045 leak transformer (a hefty beast, don't drop one on your foot..!) will run 45, 60 and 85W lamps, although if you're a purist like me the PF capacitor values are different.
