Just a quick question. I understand that Triphosphor tubes give out a bit more UV than their halophosphate counterparts. I'm using Tri 840s under my shelves to display some plastic (acrylic) cased GPO telephones. I do have slight concerns over the UV output from these tubes and the fact that they're rather close to the phones, okay there's a very small amount of UV which is probably only a tiny percentage of what they'd receive in direct sunlight. Should I have a concern or not? The lights are on for about 6 hours a day and I don't fancy the plastic yellowing/fading as a couple of them are worth a bit of money!
Also would Natural colour 25s give out less UV than 840s?

I doubt the UV output is of anything to worry about, especially as many old phones would have been sat in front of a hallway window at some point! However UV filter sleeves are avaialable which are used in art galleries etc. should you have any concern! http://www.covershield.co.uk/

They difinatly cause more UV i was working on some weather packs yesterday that have been hammered left on 24/7 in a F/S the plastic was in a right state and they were only 2002 i mean like bananna yellow!
