The perfect 2' 40W ballast solution
I've found a cool running solution to run 2' 40W tubes! Kev's not gonna like this one but I've found that a 6' 70W HF ballast is perfect! One of the advantages of HF ballasts is the current supplied to the lamps stays constant regardless of the lamp voltage so a 70W ballast is pretty much perfect for a 2' 40W. The current is a bit lower than a proper 2' 40W ballast but the increase in efficacy compensates somewhat and has no negative effects on the cathodes.
