Question for Kev, Osram of Tridonic?

Postby LinearSLI-H » Wed Apr 23, 2014 5:45 pm

I know we said one of the rules for the CMH was no electronic control gear! :doh , but I want to re install my landing one, but on the proper electronic gear.
Theres a 5 pound difference between Osrams 20watt HF,HID ballast and Tridonics on National Lamps and Componants, and their at a better price of £35 now, (to the proper GE £70 odd one).
What do you recon is the best of the two?

I'll look in my ballast box rich may have a 20W you can have!

Actually I know your not an eBay fan but just try this link! http://bit.ly/1kxfFjr

And what's interesting is that it may have a GE Lamp and ballast but I'd bet money that fitting is a Philips!

Thats a good point, I didn`t check wether Philips has one on NL+C, the e-bay one is a better price, (if it works), but I like doing installs from scratch, and I have the lamps and downlighter, just need a ballast.

Would a set of HF gear handle the quite bad supply drops I have here, better than a wire wound set?, would get better life from the lamps too.

Yes Philips do make one now but I'm not sure they did a few years ago? Yes the electronic ballast will be better when it comes to your crap voltage and dips!
