Parmar 250 2.15A MH/HPMV
Would I be able to connect a 35w SOX ballast in parallel to this (the Parmar)to boost the current up to run my 250w Powerstar HQI-E/D. Furthermore, could the reason my SON deluxe isn't as white as you describe because I'm underrruning it on th Parmar.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Parmar 250 2.15A MH/HPMV
Unfotunately Nope as the SOX Ballast is different than the MH/MBF Ballast , also the Lamp voltages are different example the 250w HPMV/MH runs at 130 volts whilst the 35w SOX runs at only 70 volts thus the Impedance would be out completely, the best solution is a 250w SON Ballast , or use a 100 and 150w SON Ballast in Parallel as the Lamp voltage is 100 volts for all three ratings.
If you are looking for a 250wSON Ballast there a few on E-bay for £20 plus £6 Postage see HERE
If you are looking for a 250w

I got my recently acquired 250w ballast from the link listed in the above post. It is a BSN 250 L34.

Yes that is a GOOD ballast . Philips INDUSTRIAL range. Fully water proof and covered coil these really take the abuse!

Thanks Colin for that information. I have ran a 70w Metal halide lamp on a 70w SON and 35w SOX ballast and it gave off a much warmer light-overrunning it to around 100w I would say. I just didn't want to harm this lamp.
