Light ideas internal insulation

Postby amtrakuk » Sat Nov 14, 2015 1:17 pm

For any of your lucky lads (and lasses) who have a Mk3 Light Ideas and are wondering what to replace the internal resistance plate insulation with (You'll see why when you pull it out), I can recommended Exhaust lagging tape / Heatproof woven lagging tape. I've just done mine from some I got on ebay. Wrapping a single layer spiral up the length between the plate and the wires and so far so good. When in use the plastic only gets warm after 30 mins use rather that questionably hot.
