Re: SLI/h control gear tests.

Worth a shot! Even if only to get a price! I'd not say no to a 200w leak transformer!

Those 7.5w Sylvania RefLED's in my bathroom seem to be happy so far. Just as bright as the old halogens too.

I'm not a fan of the higher wattage T5's. Too much glare tbh.

Yeah that's what I was thinking at first but the design is too smooth. The only flat surface is the end "transom".

Strange cutoff SOX lantern

Was riding around Liverpool today and noticed loads of strange, what looked to be classic cutoff remote geared SOX lanterns. Anybody know what they are? I found a couple dayburning on google streetview: http://mapsurl.appspot.com/streetview/#03R0i6lK7k0R0i6lK7k0R84bnuDA http://mapsurl.appspot.com/st...

Re: THORN EMI 200w SLI/H First Run!

I was starting to panic for a while there. I couldn't find my SLIH! I was sure it was in the loft with all the other large tubes but it wasn't there and I couldn't find it in the workshop either! I was starting to think somebody had broken it and not told me when I remembered that it was stashed in ...

Re: GU10 fluorescent downlighters

My bro tried some SES type CFL reflector things and actually took them back after a single night as the colour was ***** and were very dim! Oh well, I did warn him :)
My 7.5w Sylvania LED GU10's are still going strong however!

Re: T8 36w Polylux Fails to Strike

Could be just a defective tube that wasn't dossed with mercury properly and slipped through the QC net...

Leave it running for a bit and see what happens, I've had a few new lamps start the first time very dim in the middle.

LED for SOX!

A while ago a couple of roads in the industrial estate in Birchwood that I work in replaced a load of MA90`s with horrible LED glare bombs. When I went past last night I couldn't help but notice that the MA90's have been refitted! Why would they bother to do that unless it was just a test? I've noti...

Re: Street Lighting Switch-Offs

Its just a load of bollocks tbh. Same with all of these green energy saving Eco friendly stuff that probably uses a hell of a lot more energy to produce and causes a shipload more environmental damage when it is disposed of than the thing it was replacing? I bet that's why the government stopped giv...
