Re: Who makes the best HF ballast?

Don't get me wrong you can get a good batch, some of the early philips HF-P's etc but for the ultimate in reliability SS is the by far the best with pulse starters! See below 1994 Fitzgerald 8's in a delivery depot have been run 24/7 hammered and still working wonder how many PC258HFPro ballasts you...

Could be dimming ballasts angus! HWA love them. As for the flickering son I have seen this before and believe it or not it was the mini cell not latching properly!

Re: Moorlite Electronic Start Ballast

Yep used to look after a load of moorlite fittings in a school with these ballasts none had ever failed despite long use and being 25 years old.
I have a couple of these in 8' 100W version and 36W T8. They have electronic starter built in the front!

Re: 100/125 w gear

The 8' 100W tube will work on any 125W ballast without the series capacitor it used to be common practice if the capacitor failed to cut it out then put a 100W tube in. Also the S16 / 800 type starter will run 100/125W although thorn did have a dedicated 100W green starter I never understood why?

There is no way a 26W LED will be as bright as a 4x18W fluoreacent 20K life is about as long as a decent 2' tube lol

Re: Osram or GE?

Yeh they are less lamps I installed 20 or so of the new ones the other week to replace some 8 foots. I've only ever used them in switch start even the emergency ones I use are switch start! I know senate have always used cooper to make their battens so guess they get a good deal!

Re: Osram or GE?

Cool I've used loads of the stratus sleeks they are the only cat 2 surface fittings I use they used to be dextra and are now crompton.
I would use the osram tree 840s as the GEs end up 827 before they go EOL.
