I was down the metrocentre way a few months back and they seemed to be fitting large Lumas replacing the 250w MRL6s and sapphires. They are widening the road down there cos congestion is bad there.

Converting existing lanterns to led. Why bother! May as well change the whole lantern

Long stretches / sections of street lights on the M62 have also been switched off or converted to part night lighting using part night photo cells.

I spotted some megas in the bin at harrisons that day i was there. They were all broken though. The glass welds on them are ***** weak. I would of had one otherwise!

Yep there's one of these on the A1 scotch corner junction that's out. That's Urbis for you. Utter crap. The day they shut the Urbis factory and render this awful Urbis tat obsolete I will organise a party and everyone's invited lol

Caps were changed every 3 years here. But as everything is being changed to LED they no longer change the capacitors

What exactly is the difference between Osrams Colour 20 and 25? Ive had both lamps lit beside each other and i cannot see any noticeable difference between the 2?

I was just wondering if anyone on here has EVER seen any 8watt tubes branded GE F8W/840 Polylux made in GB with the old thorn / GB GE style end caps? I used to own one of these tubes years and years ago back in 2001 to 2002 I kick my self in the nuts every day since i erm blew it up in so many words...

Sounds like the glow bottles are duds so the powers still travelling up the supports and into the arc tube like a normal son... The glow bottle is only going across the 2 supports so if that fails open they are still gunna work on normal ballast and ignitor gear... If the glow bottles are stuck then...

has the glow bottles just not failed open? cos I have a couple stuck SON Is and they don't work on external ignitor gear... I don't think??
